Understanding a Child’s Brain Through Play Therapy

Course Description

Lynn Louise Wonders, LPC, CPCS, RPT-S presents this 2 hour recording of a formerly live online interactive training webinar. This is an introduction to a child’s brain development and how a child’s behavior and expressions can be better understood and addressed with this understanding. This 2 hour webinar is an excellent first step to understanding the basics of the more complex field neuroscience in relation to treating children in play therapy.

After taking this training, participants will be able to achieve the following learning objectives:

  1. Describe the basics of brain development and brain function in babies, toddlers and young children.
  2. List 3 easy play-based models for providing essential psycho-education to children, their parents and teachers in order to provide easy understanding of why a child may be struggling with behavioral concerns or emotional “melt-downs.”
  3. Explain how to utilize both CCPT and facilitative play therapy to gain an understanding of what the child is experiencing and how that might be connected to brain development and functioning.

NOTE: This training is for learning enrichment purposes and NOT for CE credits, thus the low fee! Enjoy learning for the sake of learning! If you really need the CE credits, however, contact lynn@wonderscounseling.com as this and many other of her trainings are or will soon be available on an additional platform for CE credits.
